About Tom Reveley.
Over 20 years dealing with the decisions businesses make before, during and after things go wrong.

I did not start speaking about technology because I wanted to become a professional speaker.
I started speaking because, after years of working inside organisations, running technology, dealing with suppliers, budgets, cyber security and incidents, I kept seeing the same problems repeated. Usually the technology was not the interesting part. The decisions around it were.
My career began in IT support at Royal Bank of Scotland and developed through multi-site technology roles in commercial environments including Mercedes, Merlin Entertainments and Watling Tyres, where I worked as IT Manager. That meant responsibility for systems people depended on, suppliers who needed challenging and decisions with consequences beyond the IT department.
In 2019 I founded IT Manager Services Ltd. Since then I have worked directly with business owners and leadership teams as a Fractional CTO and independent adviser, helping them question spending, understand cyber security and AI risk, and retain responsibility when technology is outsourced.
That is why the examples on stage are not speaker research. They come from having made technology decisions, managed suppliers and dealt with what happens when a reasonable decision turns out to be the wrong one.
